Sitting in the queue at service sa waiting to get my number called, so I can hand over some more money to get my license disqualified. Again. The blogs been slow since its start up due to the spontaneous nature of my life. Without going into specifics, time for taking photos and writing has been sparse. Sitting in this cesspit is the first time I’ve found some time to give this blog some attention. Just a light, wordy post outlining my current intentions for this passion project. I’ve given a bit of an introduction about the early days of my time with film but I want to keep it fresh. I’ll still drop the odd throw back in here and there because there are lots of absolute classics in there.

At this point my number got called and I am continuing this dribble from my local watering hole. Which happens to be conveniently placed at the end of my street.

Pint and parmi on its way, I’m trying to take my mind off it being the first night without my driving privileges. Not that driving the piece of shit AU was much of a privilege.

Before my parmi arrives I’d like to complete this quick update and clarify that this is still at the forefront of my priorities. I’ve just been fucked from all dimensions as of late. Trust me, there’s a lot of fresh shit on the way. With the free time I’ll end up with as a result of being bent over, the opportunity to further invest in this outlet has arisen.

Anyway, grubs up! Much better stuff on its way x

The common themes of cars and the Belair Tower were implemented over the first few rolls I shot. This is a pretty average photo showing my S13 on some 13 inch A3A’s. A prime example of a photo triggering a feeling despite theoretically being a poor image.

After dessert thoughts; it sounds like I’m victimising myself a bit there but I do take full accountability. I was the one who travelled 70kmp/h in a 60kmp/h zone (pictured below). It was me who unknowingly did the 60 in a 50. I had what may, or may not have even been my phone sitting on my lap, half hanging out my jacket. captured by a ‘mobile phone’ detection camera.

Between any of these offences, or running a red light – zero point fuck all of a second too late, turning right onto Prospect road due to the geriatric operator in front of me… I can’t decided which offence I have the least remorse for.

    $500 for these shitty photos.

    The Gear

The entry level chunk of early nineties tech I have used to fuck this film up with, has been in my family longer than I have. It traveled around the world before I was born, and then it was used to take photos of me being born. I’d love to hear it’s stories, if it could tell them. I think.

Eventually it found its way back into my hands. I was a 16 year old year 11 student, who had just started a school based auto sparky apprenticeship. The workshop was within easy walking distance from the Adelaide Central Markets, where I’d get lunch from most days. It’s also where I discovered the best camera shop that there is. Photococamerahouse.com . The oldest camera shop in South Australia. They have played a monumental roll in helping me not fuck up as much film. Absolute legends!

I’ve got memories, impatiently waiting for the little green man to illuminate. He’d pause Gouger Street long enough to let me cross with my sushi rolls in one hand, and a fresh set of prints in the other. I’d be buzzing with excitement to get back to the smoko room and eat my sushi. Going back through the memories from recent weeks and months was pretty cool too. My uninterested co-workers however were trapped in the lunch room. Where they were forcefully subjected to, primarily me or my mates’ shit box cars. They also had to endure a blurry array of action shots taken at drift events. Held captive by the societal norm of sitting down and eating lunch together.

I really hope I can edit this shit later with some flicks because its 4:20AM on the 1st of April. It’s a Tuesday. I cooked up the idea of making this thing during the back end of last week. Since then I’ve watched hours and hours of blog start up guides on YouTube. Something occurred to me while I was attempting to retain the monotonous dialogue that held very little relevance to me – I should just do what I do best. Get in there, have a crack, fuck it up, learn and get better. So I collected all my loose change, cans and bottles(someone hire me). I came up with a couple hundred bucks and threw it at this stupid bloody thing. I’ll hopefully edit or delete all this and use the good bits with some photos later. But I’ve been hard at it since Saturday and I’m fucked.

    It actual was 4:20
